Title: could use some help re: synthetic

Playing GG today - which I have never done - and would appreciate any comments on whether the syn track is that big a deal for dirt runners coming up from SA.  There are several that are much faster on dirt, but the breeding for syn surface (sire stat) is 18+.   How much credence do I put in that?
