Good to see NYRA wrecked the track again for Travers weekend. Impossible to go by the speed no matter how fast they run.
-
Why? What did they do?
-
In my opinion the last few years on Travers weekends they have tried to speed up the track. The last two days you better have the lead before 1/2 mile or you aren’t winning. Look how Smith just rode the Personal Ensign. Two straight days horses are getting headed and then winning by open lengths. First race today a 2 year old maiden ran 44.8 and won off by 6 at 12-1. I get that a few horses have sucked up for some placings but the rail and the lead seem unbeatable.

I think you can say the track is fairly souped-up/fast, but from the seat of my pants, I don\'t see enough evidence to say there\'s a bias.
-
I\'d say there was a bias, and there would likely be at least a couple of motivations as to why, but won\'t post them, here . . .

It’s all about enhancing the customer experience.

From Sunday\'s 1st, the speed bias doesn\'t exist today.

They poured on the sand, re the inside couple of paths. The timing? Strictly a coincidence.

Just think of the opportunities that lie ahead when Saturday\'s winners run back.
Good Luck,

How boring would it be if the track never changed.
I wish it changed more often

Track was the same speed as Friday, got slower through the day both days. It was faster Thursday. We will post in ROTW in a couple of days.
