In the 9th race at Aqueduct today, Eigthyninecentsaday was ridden by 71 year-old Frank Amante Sr. The horse is trained by his son Frank Amante Jr. He was a longshot and finished last, but wow, what a feat!!
Bravo Franco.

They should have wagering on races like this: who will finish last. I\'ll bet there\'s a market for this type of wager...........

Actually, Golden Gate did have one day where you could bet on who would finish last...about 27 years ago.
And believe me, it\'s not easy. It involved a contest too, and there were all kinds of accusations of jocks trying to keep their horse in last place. I didn\'t know it at the time, but it looked like a weekday at Hawthorne!

LOL. Been to Hawthorne. Of all the race tacks I have been to in my life (100 + ?), Hawthorne was the epitome of \"Race track hell\". EVERYTHING had a black hue to it. The glass grandstand, the union labor, the IMPOSSIBLE results........... Al Capone lives!!!
