Title: The Long Arm of the Law
Post by: Chuckles_the_Clown2 on March 01, 2007, 11:05:33 PM
\"We\'ve beaten him before, and our plan is to gradually build on his campaign to peak on the right day,\" said Pletcher, who will also send out Meritocracy in the Fountain of Youth. \"I think he\'ll run an improved race Saturday without going over the top, and even though he\'s never won at a mile and one-eighth, I don\'t think the distance will be an issue.\"

Its true. Pletcher has beaten the favorite with Scat Daddy before. Guess Pletcher figures he\'s the only one building a campaign towards the big day. Good for Todd, hes such a campaigning horseman! You have to wonder, is Todd seriously contemplating enough \"horsemanship\" in the Fountain of Youth to risk an even bigger suspension?

Todd, I dont know if you or your addicted minions will read this, but be apprised you are being watched like a Hawk watches a field mouse. Go for it!

What Todd the Tuna failed to mention is that although he doesnt think Scat Daddy will have any issue with 9 poles, he hasn\'t even won at two turns yet and hes breaking from the 8 hole with a very quick run into the first turn. That Champagne looks nice, but NoBiz had trouble and was on the inside part of a deep track that can get very deep near the rail in the fall. Was it deep inside Champagne day?

Thereafter the roles were reveresed and Scat got the best part of Gulfstream at what you would think was his preferred distance, while Nobiz had to bust it from the outside and came up the edging away winner. What to make of that?

Todd the Tuna may be sending Meritocracy to ensure a good pace thinking NoBiz is going to run up front again. Don\'t count upon it and even if NoBiz runs on the fractions Scat Daddy may be hard pressed to have the best energy in the lane, unless Todd breaks the sauce out he\'s saving for Churchill. Todd guess what, They got ya there too....lol

ctc - i can\'t really say about the 9 poles but imo scat daddy\'s last two numbers and overall pattern are a good example of how big numbers run \"early season\" as a 2 yo can hurt horses , i wouldn\'t be surprised if he doesn\'t make the Derby .

nobiz like showbiz has never developed past his debut effort ,  he looks like a bounce horse in the fountain of youth the way i read his pattern - even though he\'s been freshend , he bore in last time when running his fourth #2  instead of running a new a top or an off race  .

adore the gold\'s 1 1/4 bounce last time wasn\'t bad considering it followed a big number but a \"late 2 yo season\" big number , i feel he could run a top now and appears to have the breeding and sire profile tgi to handle distance\'s .

my big prediction this weekend is -   no west coast 3 yo wins a single triple crown race in 2007 ...

They were also crawling on the front end and Scat Daddy closed them down while losing a lot of ground.

No Biz seems to have a lot more potential and Scat Daddy is still a risk going long, but the Champagne was a very underrated race for him nonetheless.

What about Stormello flying east to take on the \"so called\" big horse?

Got to say the trainer has a lots of \"hutzpah\". Works are not half bad either

that trainer does have decent run and figure based stats , i suppose stormello\'s 4 might have came late enough in the season to be able come back from and continue to develop but  imo - seven  2 yo races seems like alot .

should be a very interesting race to watch , i\'m planning on throwing out scat daddy all together and keying adore the gold on top of drums of thunder , nobiz like showbiz and stormello -if he\'s a Big price ...

So do you still think that Scat Daddy\'s Champagne wasn\'t a huge effort?
