Title: Smooth Air
Post by: Sandreadis on January 04, 2008, 09:03:18 PM
looks tough. Love the Calder to GP angle. On a \" time? \" notation, is there a mention if your clocker had it faster or slower than the official track time?

Run With Me,second to Smooth in the 11/26 Calder race, runs in the Count Fleet
over the inner course at AQ today.

In the Count Fleet, I\'ll take a stab at Roman Emperor, a Steve Klesaris trainee
with a long distance pedigree,by Empire Maker out of a Colonial Affair mare.

Poor job by NYRA racing office once again. Yes it is the proverbial dead of
winter (actually temps will be very moderate here in NYC next five days), but 4
maiden races on a Saturday card is just not acceptable.

I love Roman Emperor in today\'s Count Fleet.  I\'ll call it KISS (keep it simple...) Fastest horse going into the race, Has a big forward move 2 races in a row and still may not be near his top, Good workout, almost a month between races.  I know I\'ll probably get killed for the comparison if he gets beat (I\'ll certainly get killed on my account balance) but I\'m reminded a little of when Smarty Jones came to Aqueduct a few winters ago.  Should be a decent price because he\'s a Philly shipper & Beyers don\'t match his sheet #s.  I\'m really keeping it simple in the exacta: throwing the 2nd fastest horse from their last race Barrier Reef to complete the exacta & boxing the exacta as a saver.  While I\'m at it, I might as well play daily doubles: 6/2,6,9,10.

a lot of these look the same to me, but since it\'s such a good race -

Halo Najib: looks like a legit one turn stalker. nice post with speed inside and out. Romans has been getting 30% tops recently - nice timing for one here. high ROI jock.

The \"time?\" notation is only to let people know that it\'s not a mistake on our part if the figure comes up out of line with Beyer or the track time. The figure is solid.

Is Big Truck a 0-2-X?

might have been an 0-2-x.

nice to see Sand nail it.

TG also had the 9-1 and 13-1 in the top three (maybe top two at the odds). good hit.

Guys, that GP was a great race, me and the boys cleaned up, when we saw the ex will pays and the odds, we could not believe it. Good point by Sandreadis on the only calder horse in the race. UNBELIEVABLE. For anyone interested in how to read the sheets, this race is a classic.

Fastest horse in the race. Only horse with a race over a sloppy track, which he won easy.Runs well fresh. Big name jockeys and trainers take big money at the windows and Smooth Air falls through the cracks at 9/1.
The clincher for me was Jerry saying the 3 figure in his last was solid even though the official time was in question. What a great betting angle,it\'s like a buried race when you have info that you believe to be more accurate than the betting public, that\'s powerful.
