Title: Nice ride for a nice score in the Special
Post by: Mall on May 16, 2008, 03:58:36 PM
Unlike a few of the blockheads earlier on the card, Bridgmohan didn\'t panic, and let SC settle and run his race, on a track which imo is favoring off the pace runners. Congrats on a second Gr1. Now all I need to turn the win into a monster score is for Icabad Crane or Ky Bear to upset Brown tomorrow.

Mall:

I\'m also alive with KY BEAR only because there was no one else to play in the Preakness tomorrow so I was looking for value, which I do not think we will get. Looks like KB may be 3rd choice.

Good Luck,
Joe B.

Icabad? I like it. the slowest horse in the race. should get right to the rail though, and the \'5\' could very well turn into a \'2\' or \'3\' behind the quick pace. obviously needs the huge bounce from BB, but odds will be long.

I\'m using the two closer types in the B-E Susan here, Highest Class and Seattle Smooth. HC the key with the pattern pointing towards a run in the \'3\' range. gets the weight, and gets the perfect post.

and a decent ride from Channing Hill in the B-E Susan. the filly had the 2nd fastest figure in the race, and it was over the slop. but Channing Hill and 122 lbs?

guessing Alan gave this one out as well (or very close).

TGAB,

I wouldn\'t kick yourself for that one Allan.  The fillie bled through lasix while running new top.  Even with the rest, the obvious evidence of the effort it took out of her, made her tough to take at 7-1 IMO.

Jim we can talk about the line up in the Toga. Anyway, good job Student Council all the way around.

Icabad might be one of the slowest going in,but he\'s also one of the most lightly raced, has only lost once, has a very good young trainer, and has a win over the track. If Gayego can jump from a 5 to a negative half, and Riley Tucker can jump from a 5 to a 1, I don\'t see why Icabad can\'t jump from a 5 to a negative 5.

On a more serious note, the motivation for the play was more about not having to bet the Preakness than anything else. Courtesy of DRF, the DD will pays appear below:
