The Horse of The Year should be GIO PONTI.

Four Grade 1 wins on turf over 3 different tracks and a game second over a Belmont bog at a distance that is not his best.. Toss in an effort over a surface he had not run on in almost a year and consider it took a synthetic loving beast to beat him.

Great points Joe. Unfortunately, he gets a Bronze medal at best. Looking forward to seeing him run next year.
