Title: Preakness Day
Post by: TGJB on May 21, 2003, 05:48:49 PM
Okay, we are putting the sheets for the whole Preaknes day card up in ROTW. The track was drying out, but the day was pretty straightforward, with the sprints basically at one variant, and the routes getting faster later in the card. I had to add about 3 points to the Preakness compared to the previous race (also a route), and it holds together pretty well.

Given his current line, I estimate that Funny Cide has about a 50/50 chance to run a fig better than \"0\" in the Belmont. Barring another poor post position, he is unlikely to go any wider than the other main contenders, which means he probably has about a 50/50 chance to win the race - unless you think Empire Maker will run a new top in the Belmont or that one of the other slower horses will make a big jump.

We just might have a Triple Crown winner this year...
