Title: Kid Dreams
Post by: aceriley63 on February 18, 2013, 02:39:11 AM
Kid Dreams had a nice win today at Santa Anita in a 3yo maiden special mile on dirt for Drysdale, first time Lasix, Canadian bred son of Lemon Drop Kid, won rather easliy at 14-1. Made my weekend. Not TC nominated.  Could be supplemented and perhaps an up and comer?

Ace,

That was a split division of 2 races at 1 mile for some nice 3 yr old MSW colts. The other division was won by a Baffert colt,Gov Charlie who ran 7+ lengths faster. Take a look.

Congrats on your score, but with his 2 last quarters being 24.93 and 25.66, I doubt anyone is going to be worried about him in the handicap division.  You might try checking the Trakus data on the Santa Anita website, it can tell you a lot.

Additionally, SA and GP run live chats on the weekends for those of you playing from living room downs.  While you need to be very careful about when to listen to the moderators and when to ignore them, they do sometimes raise very good points about the on-going action, such as how terrible a maiden race this one actually was compared to the other one.  I highly recommend leaving these windows open to the side while you are playing from home and checking them out.

interesting that Silverbulletday, the brilliant Baffert/Pegram runner, is the 2nd dam of both Gov Charlie and the winner of the San Vincente, Shakin It Up.

a number of interesting 3 yr olds ran at SA yesterday.

in other news, dam Afleet Summer had a fine day on Sat with 2 sons winning grade 3 races on the same day, one in the Derby up at Golden Gate and the other for our guy Jimmy C.

KD is reportedly one of the better 3yos in the barn, but he is not fast enough yet to get on the Derby trail and is way short of seasoning also.  With that pedigree, watch him when he hits the turf going longer than a mile.
