very clever response, it was the first thing that made me laugh today.  so i\'m a sore loser but for the betting public how does one explain the point that all the king\'s horses and all the king\'s men could not beat a couple of thus far mediocore horses.  Steinbrenner should be incensed.  The trainers and jockeys in Trump\'s world would be fired.

I\'m interested in the angle that when supposedly given the choice, Prado decided to stay on Sun King rather than Noble Causeway who seems to be improving (beyers up).  Aside from NC\'s derby race type-profile, is there any reason anyone knows why Prado would stay aboard Sun King?

What is your opinion for the Forego at Saratoga?  You did a classic job handicapping the Travers, looks like Strong Hope fits the bill for the Forego, since he will be heavily bet , any alternatives?  I had the pleasure of meeting Forego at the Kentucky Horse Farm in 1983.  He had feet the size of dinner plates! When visiting, my mom, knowlegeable about horses, mentioned we should all applaud and Forego would come right over- and he did!

Duh! Jimbo is right. Trip handicapping is a useful tool in colllecting money- did anyone respond to my posting concerning the parallel to last year\'s Travers, NO.

Concerning jimbo66\'s analysis, does anyone else see a parallel between last year\'s Travers with the \"two fastest horses\", i.e. Strong Hope and Peace Rules, setting it up for Ten Most Wanted, and this year\'s race?  Jimbo may be right (but if it rains Lion Heart?).

Regardless of \"dead rail\" perceptions, hate to change the subject, but what about Smarty\'s front bandages?  Didn\'t notice until the Derby.  Has he been wearing them all the time? Also, why no drf works listed for LH?  You guys are great, wish you best of luck.

Read the Smarty same as you.  Was only going by the DRF form disclosures as to Wimbledon\'s use of bute in every race except the LA Derby and not in the Kentucky Derby.  To me that means the horse is \"ouchy\".  Bute is apparently allowed in Kentucky, but of several horses accomstomed to running on the drug, none are running on it in the Derby.  Are DRF\'s program disclosures incorrect?

Just a note- according to a recent book on the breeders cup races, \"Thoroughbred Racing\'s Greatest Day\", Arazi was on a bolt around the far turn.  Quote trainer Ian Jory: \"It looked to me like it was in a blind panic, the horse just bolted. I didn\'t think he was going to make the turn.  If you look at it, he went wide wide around the turn anyway.  It looked to me like Patrick was just trying to steer him around the turn rather than anything else.\" For what it\'s worth.

There was a great deal of chatter prior to the triple crown events on this website concerning the use of EPO and the \"rebreak\" qualities exhibited by FC.  Then came FC\'s illness all summer.  According to the links provided (e.g. Bloodhorse & Louisville Courier-Journal & DRF) prior to the Derby, symptoms of condition of FC (before and after the triple crown events) fit the mold that investigative reporters of these publications projected for animals \"under the influence\".  That is, after 2 or 3 races the horse would get sick from auto-immune disorders.  Since the connections of FC have been talking about bloodwork monitoring being a specific concern since the Haskell, what are thoughts on this matter?  I\'m not sure another forum would be so open as to candid opinions.  Would appreciate input.  By the way, I hope I\'m wrong- I like the horse.

not true about the 60% unidentified investors!  i bit and went to the nytimes site and surely the article did leave much to the imagination but i must attribute this as being much of the same ilk that permeated the miami herald\'s sensationalism about santo\'s \"funny ride\", although much more demure.  in fact, after the fact i recalled reading after either the derby or preakness the complete ownership roll call, and for verification if you wish, search google for funny cide ownership and the washington post has the complete breakdown of ownership. nothing sinister there.
