Born To Be Wise.

Not me, it turns out, by any stretch of the imagination. The reference is rather to the wiseguys who, with most tracks\' knowledge & cooperation, are using batch wagering to exploit some of the exotic pools I used to bet into in the manner described in the Wagering Systems Task Force Report, available on the NTRA site. Required reading, irrespective of the nature or level of your interest in the game.

Interesting reading indeed.  One thing I found interesting was that the \"wise guy\" sites outperform others by a greater margin in exotics-other-than-doubles-and-exactas (if Woodbine is representative, it looks like this may be mostly trifectas) than in win-place-show or doubles-and-exactas wagering.  I\'m curious why that is. Since this is the only category of the three in which payouts are not made public during the wagering, perhaps the computer guys have a better handle than others on betting patterns and which combinations are likely to be underplayed?
