looked fabulous here yesterday...what a race - if you haven\'t seen the replay yet, please do so.  Rare effort - anxious to see the numbers both of them got.

Two best distafers in the country going head to head the whole way. Great race. Happy Ticket will probably get the higher figure as she lost a path on each turn and carried more weight, but this had an Affrimed-Alydar feel to it in that Round Pond did just what she had to do to win.

Round Pond also broke out into Happy Ticket at the start. She also set a very slow pace. 234, :482, 1:133, 1:374, 1:434

The pace was slow, but it was slow for both and they went the same fractions together - except Happy Ticket had to go wider on both turns, which will earn her the better figure. That doesn\'t mean I\'d take HT in a rematch. Like I said, it was reminiscent of the Affirmed-Alydar Belmont where you felt that the winner could have found a bit more if he/she needed to.

Personally I\'m glad I satthe race out and watched it. Since I had no rooting interest I got to enjoy the race more. Great race. Round Pond and Elliot let the other horse finally pass, rated his horse to have something left in the final 1/8. (I would have bet HT at 9/5-2-1)

Maybe Elliott learned something from the Smarty Jones Belmont after all.
