Not sure what Strong Contender\'s running style is.

Now, who thinks that Bob and John and Jazil don\'t have what it takes to run big efforts in the Derby?

Jazil seemed to come out of nowhere - I could only watch on the screen...and you have to wonder, on a tiring surface, how much of an explosion would he have on a fast track in the 10th furlong?  I am completely bewildered after this week\'s races (understanding that Brother Derek is easily the best performer I\'ve seen) in that I was off Flashy Bull until watching the replay of FOY for the umpteenth time, and dismissing Jazil after same...I\'m back on both, with Holthus still having to prove me he can run a horse 16 times before the derby...

anyone see the stumble out of the gate by Sacred LIght & can comment - I don\'t see much inthe news this AM...

Jazil, Flashy Bull and Sacred Light

It\'s not clear to me whether Jazil exploded or the horses in front of him were staggering.  I notice that the Beyer for the race was very slow (93).

Flashy Bull (21) and Sacred Light (23) are currently on the outside looking in earnings-wise.  I expect there will be defections that move them up, but there will also be some low-earners moving ahead of them  via the Blue Grass and Arkansas Derby.

Sacred Light went to his nose.  The amount of ground he lost wouldn\'t account for his poor result, but my uneducated guess is that it made him more aggressive and took him out of his game.  He was closer to the pace this time than last.
