I like Andy Beyer, because he is a tremendously gifted writer and his heart is in the right place. But Andy is basically a gambler and not a horseman, and because of this, he will never be able to separate the legitimate trainers from the crooks.
I\'ve had a lot of experience with Marty Wolfson and I think the reasons he is such a great trainer are that a) he is an animal person, b) he understands athletics, c) he thinks out of the box and d) racing is quite simply his entire life. And he plays the game better than almost any other trainer.
Same goes for Allen Jerkens.
I for one would be stunned to find out that Marty was a cheater.
