As expected (dollars to donuts), Beyer went with I Want Revenge and probably put the kiss of death on my 55-1 futures bet.  

As I posted to you the other day, he had to go with IWR.  With Quality Road out, nobody is faster on dirt than IWR.  Beyer is a \"figure player\" and isn\'t buying into the \"regression in the Wood\" theory.  IWR won\'t get touched by sheets players, but on the merits, he is the best dirt horse in the race, period.  The only ones close are Friesan Fire and Dunkirk.

I heard Andy on ATR on Sirius yesterday in the second hour. He wasn\'t very kind to sheets players. He basically dismissed them as complete quacks. After listening to Andy yesterday, I have to dismiss him as a dinosaur. His BSFs had their time, but that time is now in the past. If IWR wins, and he just might, then I am already covered from the futures, but I can\'t take Andy\'s pick and bet IWR just because he was the fastest horse. Racing luck matters. The best you can do with 20 in the field is find your contenders, bet them, and hope you are right.
