Sunday Pick 4
Race Six
Mostly unraced maidens here. I will focus on a few.
7-Cadid Ride: Bred on the same cross as Sydney’s Candy – that’s enough for me to take a good long look.
5-Lofty Ambition: Carla Gaines here for Harris Farms – this big filly may want more ground, but hard to ignore that combo.
1a-Star Presence/1-Blazing Along: Baffert entry always demands attention –we’ll have to watch the board for more clues; both are bred to win early though the works don’t look overly serious.
6-Dearly Concerned: Looks like she may want longer/grassier events. The same can be said for the other Hollendorfer,9-Anniversary Girl.
Both 2-Sky Flying Eileen and 4-True Way of Grace are also royally bred, but may due down the line.
Race Seven
7-Sufi Dancer: I’m willing to give this colt one more try. He was actually 10 wide turning for home in last, so that may explain his lack of late punch versus similar – he also was never relaxed at any point. Bejarano must cover him up and make one move. There isn’t much to beat here, really.
4-Keen Bidder: Did much better at the fair where grass horses can actually close as opposed to Hollywood’s green speed highway. Don’t think he beat much but did it well – runs right back.
3-Seeuat Stickenstein: Think he may actually like the grass, though the distance is an unknown factor?
8-Skysquickscore: Tripped out at Hollywood, but did hold gamely versus a pretty weak bunch – may not get that lucky here.
5-Colorsoftheglen: Had every chance and couldn’t finish in his local debut. Not too sure???
2-Siete machos: Got a good run in last and had nothing to offer late.
I have no idea what\'s coming from 1-Stremitelniy or 6-Luv Dragon as both were falling down over the Poly crap in their recent local tries??? Be inclined to let them beat me. Workout dude is touting 9-Nuggets Please but not sure what he is seeing that he likes???
Race Eight
6-Sway Away: Really nice looking colt here. If I were in Jerry’s shoes, I’d be recommending someone buy this 2 year old because he can really run! May be able to handle his more seasoned rivals though Polytrack is a bit of a concern (Afleet Alexes don’t necessarily love synth). He has worked over Del Mar 3 times, so you think if he hated it, Bonde would choose some other spot, right? I’d love to see him in a top trainer’s hands back east and running at the Spa or Monmouth. Gorgeous colt either way!
1-JP Gusto: Shown much heart and determination, certainly the one to beat here. P-Val only adds to his appeal!
5-Western Mood: can’t fault in any way – will make the last run here and could certainly be good enough in his rematch with ‘Gusto’ though he did have every chance to go by \'Gusto\' and wasn’t gaining late!?
2-Comma to the top: aired versus weaker over this track – not sure if he really improved or just rode a bias? Guess we’ll find out. He’s the main speed with the late scratch of River’s Chapel.
Race Nine
No real opinions here??? Sorry - you all are on your own.
