ROTW

Believe me I think JJ is a fun pick in the Haskell, but I have to step back and forgive the faster horses for the theoretical reasons to not bet them.  Joe Vann, Pants on Fire and Shackleford in an exacta box for me.  Mayyyyybe Ruler on Ice, but I don\'t think so.

Alm:

I agree with Thorograph on this one.  If you also subscribe to pace theories, this one is coming off of a new pace top and figures to run huge.  Will easily obtain an outside stalking position.

In combo with his TG pattern, track profile, and the swiss cheese 3yo crop, he\'s more than just a fun pick.

Good Luck,
Joe B.

Alm,

Presumably you are looking at the Thorograph sheets. So why are you going to those three, from a sheet reading?

Yes, but I am not trying to read too much into them...in other words: not trying to guess bounces, etc.  I realize this is completely unsophisticated, but they look the fastest on their best and I have always screwed up trying to read bounces into some of these trainers.

You know Alan is not exactly a poor handicapper, and now you have probably angered the racing Gods who have a way of making you pay for statements like that. Looks like I better load up on JJ\'s today.

for what it\'s worth, Hardoon picked it as well.  Although both TG/JH were wrong yesterday, this is usually a very strong play when they both agree.

I\'ll try Concealed Identity and Pants On Fire.

The jockey\'s are avoiding the rail today at MTH. Outside looks better. Tough for Coil, better for JJ\'s.

pants on fire - runs somewhere between the La Derby \'2.75\' and \'0\' last, prob closer to the \'0\'. pencil in a 2w \'1\', and he\'s right there at 118 lbs.

concealed identity - not very exciting, but he could be the trip horse. sits 1w behind a legit pace under 118, and needs only a \'2\' or so to be close.

pants looks good here and should be used, but concealed identity at a big price will be a heavy use for me, mostly a trip play.

Agree with everything here.   These are the keys IMO.    Watch the Pegasus again, I was impressed with Concealed Identity.  Tried to split horses on the turn and got shut off and ended up spotting 3 lengths to everyone, and ended up finishing a little better than POF did.

Not a real agility horse, once he gets stopped it takes him a while to get going again and it hurt him in this race.  But I think he has the ability to run with the best 3 year olds.

JJ ran his eyeballs out. All of your 14-1 shots should have half his desire.

Good Luck,

Think he gets 3rd if he doesn\'t get squeezed in stretch which I think would have made a lot of folks on this board happy.
