Will focus on the last 4, avoiding Maidenfest 2011.
TWC calling for a sunny start to the day, 30% chance of isolated T-storms as
the day progresses, will have to wait a couple of hours for the official
weather report from Frank D.
Race 8 -- Spread. Any and all insights/input appreciated.
Race 9 -- 5/2 ML fave La Reine Lionne\'s 3rd fastest TG number makes her faster
than any in this field. Her TG # at the Spa in her last race seems to say she
has her way with this field. LRL had some traffic problems in her last, but
she probably wasn\'t catching loose on the lead Shugster Hit it Rich. Chad
Brown + favorable draw + number power = post time odds 7/5? Hate to single,
but probably will here.
Race 10 Alabama -- Interesting that two posters have tabbed St Johns River,
yet she is arguably fourth fastest of the 5 likely to go based on TGs. The
fastest filly and favorite is Its Tricky, who has enough 2 turn foundation to
lead me to believe that 10 furlongs is no problem here. Spreading, will be
watching Inglorious, who just beat 16 colts in the Queens Plate and is
improving rapidly. Wish I had the nerve to toss Plum Pretty, who offered very
little resistance to Its Tricky in the CCA Oaks.
Race 11-- Singling ML 4/1 East of Danzig. This is a NYB who has been
competitive in open company. Stunk up the joint in his Saratoga appearance
while posting a top accompanied by the always intriguing \"!\". Trainer Matz
having a good meet, and did I forget to mention that Johnny V replaces Alan
Garcia?
The play: All/La Reine Lionne/All/East of Danzig for $2 = $100.
Singling two horses in turf races which, prior to reviewing TGs, looked kind of open. Suicidal?
