In What seems to be a reunion tour we had Gary, Wayne and Oxbow on Preakness Day. Then we had Gary, Proctor and Marketing Mix on Memorial Day. Now we have Gary, Schwartz and Laugh out Loud trying to do what Gorilla did on Belmont Day a few years back. If she piles in at 15-1 then the joke is on us.....

Silver:

Laugh Out Loud was keyed in many of my multiple race wagers. I knew 15/1 was not
to be after you, Jerry Bossert of the Daily News and the DRF consensus all piled
on. Much more consternation when I saw that LOL was being lead to the post Euro
style, ie by a groom with a shank and not by a pony.

Of course it wasn\'t long before LOL broke lose from her escort and ran off a bit
with Gary Stevens, though Stevens might have let her run off a bit more, as she
was a bit rank early and empty late.

LOL\'s sire Clodovil is a 13yo stallion who won 5 of 8 lifetime races and stands
for Euro 7500. Clodovil\'s sire is the major turf influence Danehill.

Assuming Martin Schwartz leaves this filly in the US, maybe a score down the road
with the help of some of the Old (Chad) Brown magic (and a lead pony).

AARP member Belmont Stakes comment: Great to see Stevens and Smith turn for home
side by side in the big race. Pause to reflect on the sacrifice and effort that
it has taken Smith to stay in the game at the top level for as long as he has, on
the discipline it took Stevens to come back after seven years on the sideline ...
and the reward, how great it must of felt to turn for home in a big race with a
decent crowd in the stands.

Richie - Very much respect your opinions on the board but wondering what you saw in LOL?  From a fig perspective didn\'t seem to be anywhere near that group.  Just the Euro on the yielding course angle or breeding?

Thanks for the kind words. I would say that LOL was a pretty routine play for me
just based on her Group 2 win on a good to soft course. Besides her French
victory, she was Group 1 stakes placed in her final two starts as a 3YO, once in
England, once in Ireland.

The breeding was pretty obscure, had never heard of the sire before.

I was assuming that LOL was under the care of Chad Brown and would remain with
Brown for a US campaign, but when LOL showed up in the post parade with a two
legged escort I thought that there was the possibility that the Euro connections
were still involved.

Figure-wise, obviously a stab, one which became less appealing when the odds were
cut by a third, but given the chance I will back her in the future. Her running
lines show a good turn of foot and she might be better prepared for North American
racing after hanging around under Chad\'s shedrow for a while.
