Yes, his \"summary\" of the recent history of NYRA is unbelievably bad.

It\'s not only unbelievably bad, it\'s destructive. This kind of crap becomes \"true\" if it\'s said enough, whether about political issues or NYRA, and has made them an easy target.

I had a lot of \"true\" stuff coming at me from 11th street over the years, and it was only when I took on all comers here that it stopped. Problem is, who\'s going to fight for NYRA? Crist is the only one even trying.

Yeah, it\'s hard to put up a fight with a gun being held to your head. Too bad the Crist of 25 years ago is not at the NYT today.

But even that aside, who has the incentive to fight? Nobody there now was there then, why would they align themselves with a target? They\'re a pinata.

There is a lot of good Cuomo bashing in there, but the article begs so much effort and work of the reader, that most people probably stopped reading pretty quickly. What a poorly written piece! It feels like there is a race to the bottom between the NYRA and the NYTimes (Unfortunately, I think the NYRA will win that race, but, hopefully, my handicapping is equally poor). Things are getting really bleak for those of us who would like to see horseracing survive in the USA.

Sheer hit-and-run crap, of the worst sort, with cheap shots throughout.  Wanders all over the map, leaving the casual reader repulsed and wishing it would all go away.   This is what happens when the Times\' ubereditor (an animal-lover -- not that there\'s anything wrong with THAT!) gets racing in her sights and goes on a sustained -- and most-uneven crusade -- against it, as an entity.   \"Drugging of horses\" . . . \"rigging of bets\" . . . below Times standards -- well-below . . .
