This is not a one trick horse. Yes he went straight to the lead yesterday but he threw down about as easy of 44+ half as one can do it. The time was fast and the number will come up big. I would be looking for Mile and 1/16th spots with purses and keep going from there. If he stays this good no one may touch this horse for a while!!!

 The \"trainer\" Laura whoever said in an interview after the race that he would be given a couple months off and the Met Mile is their main objective.

I think that Runhappy is arguably right now a possible favorite for the Met Mile
at Belmont on Sat June 11.

I think that by Sat June 11, Marking will have already scored in a major race at
nine furlongs or beyond. I will watch the replay but it seemed to my eye that
Marking broke sharply, chased the champion most of the way, and cut into the
champ\'s advantage a bit at the end, though Stevens\' foot was probably off the
pedal by then.

I might or might not convince myself that that was an exceptional effort by
Marking. In his third lifetime start no less. Shipping for the first time.

RH\'s two turn race was a disaster and he\'ll find it much tougher holding fast routers at bay late, should he route again.

With three 7f races to go off yesterday his fig was solid but unspectacular for the level, like TG neg -1.75ish. Breaking sharply for the first time could also be a sign of strengthening behind, very positive.

I would imagine a certain segment of \"the industry\" would be ecstatic if this
colt can continue to deliver knockout punches while running without Lasix.

Back when the price of gas was about double what it is today, certain middle
Eastern interests would have already purchased Runhappy, turned him over to a
respectable trainer, and maybe then a serious effort would be made to expand RH\'s
range.

Right now I\'ll settle for a freaky fast (Lasix free) miler and the inexpensive
petrol.

Frank D The Met Mile is always obvious for these types. I\'m thinking more down the road at The Whitney and in the Interim something like Oaklawn with that shorter stretch and a strip that can be rail speed favoring. You never know what you have until you test the deeper waters. I know a Hall of Fame Trainer or 2 who certainly would....

Ritchie a very prominent and legendary Paris Kentucky farm owner privately stated before Breeders Cup this animal was a \"Freak\" and they wanted to buy in. And who could \"Blame\" him. But you also dealing with some loose cannons as Partners and before you dish out ~$15M give or take you want some control if not total control when some of the best people in the industry work for you.

You mean like TAP did with Keyed Entry? The ownership (one of which is a friend) got Derby fever took him to Louisville to run last at a 1 1/4. The horse turned into a head case and one of the most natural sprinters/milers that we\'ve seen in the past 40 years was ruined.

U make a good point about the faster break possibly being a very good sign about how Runhappy is doing behind, where he pushes off from.

But I disagree about the Lecomte being proof he can\'t go two turns. He had a fractured tibia in that race, was wearing blinkers, and mentally was not at all prepared to go two turns.

Heard about Le Compte debacle, bet him and saw him travel poorly, legit excuse.Watching Runhappy in all his starts leans me to towards he may not stretch out effectively at two turns vs top level routers, breeding ok.One turn mile a tough call for me since getting 7f is a barometer re many milers.

Could develop as a router at 4 but dont buy the usual BS about his long stride et al that Stevens and connections put out there recently.RH has not exactly finished with run off authority in some of his races, will be swinging against in in two turn route debut vs top level.Want no part of gambling against RH up to 7f esp if he has overcome breaking poorly.

I can tell u that I have seen the stride data on this horse and it is very impressive.

Look at his fractions in his best races when he is not rushed up -- the King\'s Bishop, BC Sprint, Malibu. FAST half miles and then comes home in 12\'s. It is extremely impressive. To me he is a great candidate to stretch out based on those internals.

I won\'t go on any more, perhaps I am a bit biased because of my connection to the horse.

Know your connection, very good work id\'ing RH pre purchase.Know his internals well, just saying he has to do it(stretch two turns) on the track.
