I remember Harvey Pack semi-joking about Oscar\'s \"magic\", and the ensuing cold streak, at a DRF Handicapping Expo awhile back:
“Oscar Barrera won everything in sight, and I went into Jerry McKeon, who was president of NYRA, and I said, ‘The trainers, they’re being discouraged, they see Oscar doing this.’ I said, ‘What, you think he’s that much better?’
And he said, ‘Well, he may be the best trainer that ever lived.’
And when he went 0 for 98, I went in to Jerry and I said, ‘Imagine, he woke up one morning and forgot how to train.’”
