It\'s Alabama Day and Songbird is no doubt a physical specimen that would have made Bear Bryant proud. He was famous for calling big time recruits studs and saying
\"He a stud\" or \"I got to get me one of them\". The second phrase was said to be attributed to USC\'s Sam \"Bam\" Cunningham after the Trojans visited Birmingham in 1970 to roll over the tide. By coincidence the following year Alabama and the south eastern conference was integrated.
The Saratoga late pick 4 is in reality a pick 3 as anyone who has ever seen this
\"fillie\" up close would not wager a dime against her. She schooled in the paddock on Thursday and I got some nice up close pictures of her walking back.
Race 8: If Ava\'s Kitten wins this race for Chad from the 10 hole without early speed and being the 5th or 6th fastest horse in the race I QUIT. Yes I am aware she gets a point or so in weight from most.
Rumble Doll, Orient Harbor and Lady Kreesa are the logical ones by the numbers. Angel Vision adding blinkers at a huge price from way out there interests me A Lot. She has not performed to her regal Euro breeding , has been all over the place distance wise with a series of interesting trips. Blinks on for underrated trainer Dilger a good move, I say Lezcano guns from out there today carrying 120 plus a fresh Frank D. coffee can.
The Fourstardave:
Per ROW write up I like A Lot, a Lot as well, 4/1 may be the off price. Ring Weekend in spite of Motions horses running very well has way too gappy a sheet for me and I would never ever bet Rosario from out there on the turf without early speed. The 4 inside horse provide interesting B & C possibilities at some nice prices.
The Alabama: Songbird Only
Race 11: Ahh the Chad Factor again, a familiar theme to say the least!
Converge is the logical drop down play for a trainer hell bent on winning this meet however there are several just as fast by the numbers alternatives.
The 2 inside horses are logical but with both being put in for the claiming price?
Bond owns the one and the two is a syndicate so the claim and purse are probably get outs for modestly bred \"in the backyard slow rats\" we miss you Miff!
Powerful Instinct, Dream Doctor and Make a Decision are the logical alternatives IMHO. Linda Rice\'s horses are starting to all run pretty well and Jose Ortiz will be gunning this one to the front.
I\'m not entirely sure of the exact structure of my ticket, however it will be complicated and expensive for sure!!!
Good luck on a beautiful day that has Uncle Bill in his glory. We had a full cast of T-generates in the house yesterday, Bill bought lunch from Perreca\'s for everyone yesterday sandwiches, pizza and cannoli\'s. Not too mention his new found Philadelphia fillies who have become Uncle Bill groupies.
The Spa is the only place in the world that you will see beautiful women all dressed up eating over garbage pail! It happens everyday as we sit behind the mac & cheese truck. On Thursday I pointed this out to Billy and he went over and invited them to sit with us as we had a picnic table and several empty chairs for just he and I. They were grateful, friendly and laughed that their men were drinking and losing their money while they were seeing the sights and samplling the local food. As they were leaving they asked who we liked in the next race. It was a maiden with a Chad first time stick out and a couple other logical tri fillers so I blurted out 8 with the 3/4 behind him. A whooping $33 triple so the girls came back yesterday saw me said thanks for the triple, where\'s Uncle Bill.
