Why did the Blue Grass fall apart?
« on: April 29, 2017, 07:55:35 AM »
Heading into the race, the general consensus was that this the field with the strongest resume, and the downgrade to Grade 2 was already getting knocked. Yet, the top flight group all crashed and burned. I think this is an anomaly, and perhaps they did not pick up the Keeneland surface. How does a race go from the top flight prep of the year to a clunker?

Are you saying you don\'t agree with the figures for the race? As another poster brought up, this race is the \"eye test\" vs the metrics. Interesting to say the least.

I don\'t really get this post. McCracken paired coming into a race he wasn\'t primed. Practical joke ran big. Tapwrit bounced or didn\'t take to track. The only odd part of the race was drug O\'Neils horse ran his eye balls out. Looks like a pretty solid prep. Two of the horses look very good to me on thoro power. Irap is the one question mark but it was a soft pace and he ran big
