One thing I didn\'t consider for the seminar was the possibility that the inside would be bad on the GRASS course. Evidently it got drowned yesterday. There was standing water on top of the inside part, you could see it was a different color.

The problem, of course, is that there will be no turf racing before the BC, which makes it a guessing game. It will be interesting to see how the jocks ride, especially whether the horses on the lead drop over.

This doesn\'t hurt Channel Maker who is getting better. Enable dominated Europe last year. You just don\'t ever see grass winners in Group 1 winning by 4 and 5 every race. Interesting how highly this field was thought of in the Seminar

On my favorite weather website, I don\'t see any more rain from now through the Classic on Saturday. I think conditions will be fine, assuming good drainage, and I have to believe CD has good drainage.

To keep the inner running lanes in top condition, the inside rail on the 80-foot-wide course is rotated on a regular basis between lane 1 (on the hedge), lane 2 (15 feet off the hedge) and lane 3 (22 feet off the hedge). The course also features a state-of-the-art drainage system under the turf to ensure that the course dries quickly.

If the water was that deep and its 45-50 outside akd we are looking at 48 hour turnaround, lets put it this way. Its not gonna be Santa Anita.

The forecast is for cloudy today (dreary was the term that the NWS used), clearing on Saturday am...while they have great drainage on the main and and how they sealed the main it wouldn\'t be if the main track fast by the end of today...HOWEVER...with NO sun today the turf course is a TOTALLY different situation...

  It wouldn\'t surprise me to see a situation similar to the Breeders Cup at Gulfstream Park (1992?)...They received > 6 inches of rain the Mon./Tues. before the Breeders Cup...the infield lake overflowed onto the inside paths of the turf course and never fully dried out 4 days later...the 1-2-3 paths were a \'bog\' the outside paths were much firmer were was a HUGE advantage to those jockeys who recognized it...It will be interesting to see what happens today/tomorrow...just another wagering variable!!

Inside on turf is suspect until proven otherwise. I\'m not going to say I\'m the reason Bulletin didn\'t drop over, cause Elliott already was concerned about the inside, but I suggested it last night. 2 and 4 ran like they were on a treadmill.
