Who’s Ready

With SA and CD returning to racing, who has any methods to know which barns are ready?  I know that TG provides excellent stats on how trainers perform after layoffs but are there any other tricks that folks use?  Thought this would be an interesting discussion.

The layoffs stats will be interesting and maybe taken with a grain of salt, since some horses are turned out due to injury or due to a grueling campaign - which gives a different read on return performance.

With regards to the Churchill meet that starts tomorrow, realize that many of these runners were primed to come off the layoff… not now, but 4-6 weeks ago at Keeneland! Trainers have had to pump the brakes on hammering down too much. Then rev up. A champion returns tomorrow off a 500+ day layoff and she’ll be 3-5. Your move.
