Anyone want to hazard a guess why Domestic Dispute and Moscow Burning came across country, rather than run in softer races in California? The latter has some chance here, but any race she runs good enough to win the Flower Bowl would win the Yellow Ribbon by open lengths.

Maybe because the purses are much bigger and in the case of Moscow B,she won over the Belmont course, but who knows for sure.I\'m sure you have seen many STRANGE spots picked by some connections.

Maybe there will be a \"shakeup\" in the trainer standings at the Oaktree meet this year:-)

I think Moscow Burning has a good chance in the Flower Bowl if Wonder Again is less than 100% off the mini-layoff (which is possible). She \"may\" find herself alone on the lead here.  

An extra 250K plus her win at Belmont might make sense to someone that doesn\'t look at speed figures to determine the easier spot.

 Good Question ... it might have alot to do with what derby1592 , classhandicapper and miff have to say in their post\'s .
While lacking the depth and breadth of racing experience which most folk\'s who post regularly TG web site possess - my initial feeling was that , due to the very uncertain environmental conditions which presently exsist in So Cal + up & down the west coast , the option of heading east was a viable one - but now I\'m not sure ...

Jake - Do all raggi guy\'s view all horse races exactly the same eveytime and then bet them accordingly ?
I\'m not to motivated on this one , it\'s only a rhetorical question - if you know the answer , you don\'t have to say what it is ...
 I won\'t tell you every time I cash becouse then I\'ll have to tell you every time I don\'t cash ...  
Besides that horse was a bit of an underlay ?

Friedman hit the race, some of the guys on his board did, having not seen their sheets I can\'t tell how their players who handicapped the race on their own would have viewed it. To me, the race was incomprehensible and tremendously random, and once the rail filly I was going to play at a big price scratched, I passed.

Seven of the eight fillies finished within 2 lengths at the wire. Riskaverse ended up getting a good trip from the outside post, and at least one filly (Frankel\'s) will get a better figure. Seems pretty likely Wonder didn\'t fire, and Risk ran another 3.

I think \"Wonder\" not firing was not a shock. IMO, she was an underlay at that price. I didn\'t play the race because I didn\'t have a strong opinion on anyone. If I had a gun to my head I would have played Moscow (thought she might get loose on a slow pace - which she did but lost anyway). I would have liked the winner except for the 10F. IMO, she\'s never been at her best at 10F.

Does anyone know why John Velazquez rode Domestic Dispute instead of the Pletcher-trained Newfoundland?

While I\'m on the topic of jockeys, has anyone read who Prado would ride in the Classic?  Birdstone?  Saint Liam? Roses in May?

mistake i guess. handicapping has never been cordero\'s strong point as an agent. DD is a fast horse, but he will never win a gd1 race going 10f (and newf may not have been pointed towards the race)..... prado is on birdstone, velazquez is on roses, but i\'m not sure about SL. it\'s dutrow, i bet he tries to get dominguez.

Thanks Jerry - That\'s about what I thought . The race didn\'t seem apealing unless something in there was a real big price with a reasonable chance of winning .
 I stayed away from that race as well , I liked the 8th race alot and felt it was a good play , maybe best on the day - except the price could have been better...
Also , I thought Light Jig , short price and all , was a good to vg+ play on Thorograph over @ Santa Anita .
 Now I\'m thinking of the Breeder\'s Cup and turning my focus on all those European horse\'s , just wondering if Ibetombe is back in training ?
She seems to offer more than just potential for breeding or as a race horse . If healthy I bet Ibrtombe could tackle some of the best out there .
