One Frog, Not Twain
« on: March 30, 2005, 01:51:47 PM »
So it turns out my story about the frog, which I first told here a couple of years ago, did not come from Mark Twain. Nevertheless...

Scientists are studying a champion jumping frog. They say \"Jump, frog\", and it jumps 4 feet. So they write down, \"healthy frog jumps 4 feet\".

Then they cut off one of it\'s legs, and say \"Jump, frog\". It jumps 3 feet, and they write down \"frog with 3 legs jumps 3 feet\".

They cut off another leg, say \"Jump, frog\", and it jumps 2 feet. So they write down, \"frog with 2 legs jumps 2 feet\".

They cut a third leg off the poor frog, and say \"Jump, frog\". He manages to jump a foot, and they write \"frog with one leg jumps one foot\".

Finally they cut off his last leg. \"Jump, frog\". Nothing. \"Jump, frog\". Again nothing.

So they write down, \"Frog with no legs goes deaf\".

Mullins and Dutrow would have got him to jump.

Good Luck,

...and Oscar would have got him to do it two days in a row.

That\'s pretty good. Don\'t get the \"Came Home\" reference.

A 3yo who could not get the mile and a quarter in May, but did accomplish it in August when winning the Pacific Classic.

Good Luck,

One of the weakest Pac Classic fields ever.

May they all come home safely!
