Has anyone read anything anywhere about what happened to Bellamy Road in his one sub par looking effort?

Did they have or make up an excuse?

On the Zito barn, I will get the story on all of his Derby prospects from Len Reggio, ex Brooklny guy, who became Chairman of Barnes and Noble and owner of Noble Causeway.

Figures aside, word has it that Zito is still in love with Sun King and was SHOCKED at the performance of Bellamy Road.

miff,

For weeks I thought Sun King was his best prospect even though some people thought his last race wasn\'t that good. To me it looked like he was just out for a jog in the park that day. I\'m expecting a very good effort next week in what\'s sure to be a terrific race - IMO the highest quality prep race.

Since then I liked High Fly\'s race a lot.

It\'s hard to dislike a steadily improving horse like Noble Causway.

Yesterday\'s effort by Bellamy is hard to dislike even if someone like me tends to discount certain aspects of it.

It\'s really hard to imagine a man being more loaded than this coming into the Derby. I\'ve never been a Zito fan because I\'ve always had a tough time predicting his horses\' performances, but he\'s doing an unbelievable job this year.

Zito has always been under rated IMO.He gets good stock but he shows up, for the Triple Crown, just about every year and other trainers with good stock do not.

This is a dream come true! His performance on Saturday is similar to the last 2 Preakness; I don\'t care how good he looked, the track was cement, and he should bounce to the moon come Derby day. He will go off the post-time fav. and I don\'t think he will hit the board. Lots of green could be made on this year\'s race!

Perhaps he ends up following the same pattern as last year. Two big wins, then the rotten effort in the 2yo stake race at Keenland.

Can\'t believe they made him 3-1 in Pool#3...can you imagine all the chalkies knocking each other over to get down on this one.

NOW HERE\'S THE KISS OF DEATH: Brent Musberger on the Saturday nite ESPN telecast of SUNS-ROCKETS; \"saw the Derby winner today. He\'s owned by the boss, George Steinbrenner.\"

Remember, this is the same guy who told Rollie Massimino that his Villanova team had absolutely no shot at beating Georgetown in \'84.

Good Luck,
Joe B.
