I got my own ROTW. Bay Meadows...4th...Zappa...M/L second choice...gets Baze...might get crushed at the window but a good pick 3 and early pick 4 anchor...

The trend for ROTW (lately) has been to use a race with one or more supertrainers in it, then \"take a stand\" against their horses.

One of two things happens: one of the 3 or 4 horses the ROTW handicapper suggests wins the race, or a supertrainer horse wins (like last week). So it\'s either \"ain\'t TG great?\" or \"...can\'t beat the juice\".

Along those lines, it was an easy choice to use the Fritchie this week: one Kenny McPeek shipper and three Dutrow horses in; these make up half the field.

The TG \'capper doesn\'t like 2 of the 3 Dutrow horses, is \"willing to play against\" the McPeek horse (a giant mistake, IMO), but likes the remaining Dutrow horse and three others. So he\'s covered on 7 of the 8 horses in the race. Slick.

     So instead of criticizing the author of the analysis, why don\'t you
utilize the TG data (provided for free after the analysis) and make a case for
your selection (the McPeek runner?).

     I think TG intends ROTW to be a chance to make at least some TG data
available gratis and to promote some discussion; it has never been marketed as a
beat the races get rich quick scheme.

        Speaking of supertrainer dominated races, how about the Chou Croute at
Fair Grounds today? There are 6 runners, including two Asmussens, an Amoss
(34%  win rate at the meet) and an Autrey (30% win rate at the meet).

10 minutes to post as I write this.

First of all, it\'s the first ROTW I\'ve written in momths-- Alan is away. I pretty much wrote out a play, which would be exotics (probably tris) using the 4 I mentioned, lighter on Plata.

Don\'t remember anyone here taking credit for any conso prizes when a juice horse wins, either.

And by the way, there\'s nothing wrong with Friedman\'s pick at GP, either. Came close to doing that for ROTW.

I hated Oprah Winney in that race. It cost me a few dollars to finish 2nd and 3rd in the exacta.

She dropped dead at 7f under pressure the first time she tried it. She was life and death against much weaker after controlling the pace in her next try at it. She bounced badly off her last big figure (earned on a biased track she took advantage of) and was loose on the lead in the slop in her last race (barely lasting at 6F).

I had a very tough time coming up with a way she could duplicate her last race figure today. The 7F could beat her, a bounce could beat her, she might not be as good as her slop race indicated, and several other horses were close enough in ability to beat her even if those things didn\'t.    

Maybe inside speed was good in sprints at LRL today. Either that or they used the \"high test\".

I didn\'t really think Dutrow\'s horses looked impressive coming in, but he had far too many in the race for me to get involved.
