Trainers are"a dime a dozen"

If an animal comes up dirty;trainer is booted off 3 months.
All stock under trainers care has 7 days to be inhaled by organizations that have no RELATIONSHIP with said barn.
2nd offense is 6 months;3rd is adieu.
By applying all the pressure on one entity(trainer),the cost of ensuring a clean horse is directly tied to the one person who is ultimately responsible for the well being of the aniimal.
NO need to build isolation barns or to chart a vets daily activity.Overzealous owner?..let the trainer deal with it.Vet makes mistake?..very tite colony would black-ball him/her out of business.
Now if like me and you think that present testing is lacking;well maybe we can put 1st offense 6 months-2nd 1yr.;third and you get the hook.

Speaking of a Dozen,

Potentially Pletcher may have a Dozen runners in the Derby this year, Oneill may have 3 to 5 runners. What\'s going on here!!!

It\'s almost a guarantee Pletcher or Oneill will win their first Derby this year. In fact - it will probably be an all Pletcher/O\'Neill Superfecta...I\'d love to see Larry Jones upset the apple cart though with Hard Spun. I love it when the little guy trainers win the big show...Matz, Tagg, Servis - there has certainly been a few of late but most likely not the case this year...sigh

Me too, especially when the little guy runs clean, like those you mention, and is innovative like Ritchey. I would also love to see the race won by someone whose operation is small enough so he can be a real hands-on trainer, rather than a CEO type who supervises several assistants.
