TGJB,Alan,

Any chance you\'ll be posting an analysis for players here who would like to participate?

TGJB,

This is the e-mail I received.  I\'ve set it apart in quotes.

\"Dear PaceAdvantage.com Members,

I wrote to you last week asking you to support a petition requesting that The Jockey Club step in and help fix the current Advance Deposit Wagering (ADW) mess.  Over 400 of you responded during a brief three day period, and the result was that our voices WERE HEARD during The Jockey Club Round Table Conference held last Sunday in Saratoga.

JC President Alan Marzelli read from the letter I sent to him, which also included a complete printout of the petition and all the individual responses from members such as yourself .

\"Marzelli also read from a letter sent to The Jockey Club by about 400 horseplayers who posted a petition on the forum Web site PaceAdvantage.com. The horseplayers said the current environment that requires them to sign up for multiple wagering accounts to gain access to various signals is chasing away bettors.\"

The above quote is taken from an article on The Blood-Horse website.

In fact, The Blood-Horse has written FOUR articles which contain references to PaceAdvantage.com and our actions to date:

http://www.bloodhorse.com/articleindex/article.asp?id=40242
http://www.bloodhorse.com/articleindex/article.asp?id=40289
http://www.bloodhorse.com/articleindex/article.asp?id=40315
http://www.bloodhorse.com/articleindex/article.asp?id=40381

And it\'s not just The Blood-Horse.  We were also mentioned in an article in the Daily Racing Form:

http://www.drf.com/news/article/87764.html

I am blown away that we have attained such wide exposure in such a small amount of time, and all the credit for this success goes to those who took the time to read and sign the petition.   But that was simply step one.

As a group, we have decided that the next step in this reform process is to flex the one muscle this industry can\'t afford to ignore, and that\'s the one inside our collective wallets.

Step two occurs this Saturday, August 25 in the form of a \"Buycott.\"

A \"Buycott\" is the OPPOSITE of a boycott.  We have chosen to target a small track, The Downs at Albuquerque (ALB), and our goal is to markedly increase their overall handle for the day.  There are no hard or fast rules here.  All we are asking is that you take a good look at Saturday\'s Albuquerque card and if you see something you like, put some $$$ through their windows.

There are quite a few posts at the following links to aid you in finding out where you can play ALB, where you can watch ALB video, track profiles, selections, etc:

http://www.paceadvantage.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=57

http://www.paceadvantage.com/forum/showthread.php?t=39008

Let\'s build on the impressive momentum we have attained in such a short period of time.  Let\'s show the industry that the petition wasn\'t a \"one hit wonder.\"  Let\'s continue to illustrate what a united group of horseplayers can accomplish when properly motivated!

They\'ve heard our voices.  Now let them know we mean business!

Sincerely\"

==PA

We don\'t publish Albequerque.

By the way, you have some nerve coming here after taking a shot at me on the other board (and as you well know, I\'ve always acknowledged I started with Ragozin, and went into the history in some depth at the 04 Expo). The guy you responded to (and it wasn\'t me or anyone I know, to my knowledge) was correct and on point in his response to that idiot and the others that followed, and since you were the one a couple of years ago whining about open mindedness, you should have been backing him up, not taking the party line. I have yet to see anything resembling an open minded post from you on the Ragozin site.

I think the ADWs are feeling the heat, and the petition-- and especially the fact that Marzelli read it aloud-- will help. Betting on a small track will not. Direct pressure-- in the form of a boycott-- is the best way to get racetrack\'s attention.

I\'m supposed to have lunch with Alan next week to discuss another issue that gets a lot of play on this board. My guess is the ADW situation will also come up.

Ouch.  Unfortunately, I agree that my reference to you in that post was inappropriate.

What I said in response to that poster was not meant to detract from Alan\'s brilliant ROTW analysis last week, nor from your role in the purchase/placement of Student Council.

You want MORE!!?  It\'s not like I use a different name over there.  Nonetheless, I will consider your challenge to a mensch contest.  It\'s your turn...

I agree. This Albuquerque buycott is a risky proposition. It could easily fail and backfire.
I don\'t know how many horse players will want to spend time trying to handicap and lose money on a small track they are not familiar with and cannot get good data for.
Even if it succeeds, I doubt the big tracks will be impressed. They can easily absorb what would seem like a substantial change in handle at a small track. They need to be hit and feel the pinch directly.

Not \"more\"-- many of those guys don\'t read this board. I want you to clean it up where you made the mess.

Don\'t know what \"your turn\" means, but any time I don\'t act like a mensch, feel free to point it out right here.

In the 4th line of this string you said:

\"The guy you responded to (and it wasn\'t me or anyone I know, to my knowledge) was correct and on point in his response to that idiot and the others that followed,\"

Even the original poster had enough mensch to apologize for his personal attack.  I\'d say you finished a distant 3rd in the contest. I will try to continue to take you up on your invitation, though.

In the meantime, you\'ve gotten all you\'re going to get regarding what I said.

TGJB,

I visited the other board for the first time in months.  Just wanted to see how they viewed the PC @ Del Mar. I saw a ridiculous comment and responded.  I called someone an idiot (an accurate description), and not wanting to turn it into a pissing contest, apologized for that one remark in a later post. I probably should have ignored the ignorant remarks.....but, once again, I couldn\'t. However, I stand by everything else I said. Its amazing nobody over there can say anything thats even remotely contrary to the company line, or for that matter,  give anybody any credit at all (unless you\'re a Rag).

I use Ratbastid over there because its one of my favorite Dreyfuss lines from Let It Ride.  Up in the Jockey Club,  calling them all \"stuffy ratbastids\".

Raz-- Why don\'t you read all the comments again, in sequence, and Pdub\'s post here. If you really were open minded, you would have jumped on the original poster that he responded to, instead of coming at me. But you are not-- you are a pure partisan. And by not withdrawing your comment where you made it, you have made his exact initial point about that board.
