The pattern you\'re identifying is the pairs of top pattern. We talk about this in some depth in the intro tutorial available off the introduction page. Other patterns are also discussed.
Briefly, your observation is spot-on. A pair of tops in a young horse is a sign of strength and often results in a new top shortly thereafter if not next time out. Because Thoro-Graph takes weight carried and ground loss into account, sometimes efforts seemingly nondescript in the results charts are actually better than they appear. And if one of these efforts pairs the immediately previous top, why then you may have a good bet in the making, obviously contingent upon what the rest of the field runs. But it\'s exciting.
Once again, good observation and take a listen to the tutorial when you have a chance and then read some of the archived ROTWs.
