Wow.   I\'m about done with horse racing.  Corrupt trainers, Corrupt Jockeys, Correct Racing Commissions, Corrupt Stewards.

It\'s one gigantic fraud.

It might help if you described the horrible offenses you\'re referring to---98 percent of us weren\'t looking at the 4th at Calder.

About 50 yards before the 1/16th pole, the 4/5 first time starter bore in about 2 lanes and nearly put the 1A horse into the rail.  Looked at it for 5 minutes, thought it was the easiest DQ ever..  Nope.  He stays up.

Just saw it...Does look like a no brainer that he should have come down..My guess is they\'re going to say that the inside horse was going to get beat anyway which is quite possible but he took away any chance of that inside horse coming back..

Sorry to hear you are leaving the game. Just another example of Racing losing its
loyal fan base. Will miss the Penn National updates, especially where you cast
aspersions on the honesty of trainers without providing any evidence of their
wrongdoing.

I will say that you are a unique poster, probably the first one I can recall who
posted a winning ticket, complete with ID or confirmation number no less, on the
board.

With regards to stewards at Calder or anywhere else, if you have been playing the
Game on a long term basis, I think you will agree that the put ups and take downs
even out over a long career, the only exception being if one has gotten taken
down out of a life changing score.

Best of luck, though I find it hard to believe you will stay away long. Wagering
on Penn National racing is a symptom of Type I Equihippicitis, which, as we all
know, is rather incurable though rarely fatal.

Richie, probably just a temporary break for me to get away from garbage like this for a while.  Christmas time.  The time for gifts and heating bills.  Save up for the spring 3-yo season.

How much evidence do you need to discredit a trainer winning at almost 40% ?  Claiming horses and routinely squeezing 4-6 point improvements right out of the gate with 4 & 5 year olds?  

I don\'t wager Penn National THAT often.   I prefer not to.   But I will go to a live racing event from time to time there since its the closest thoroughbred track to me.

Definently very possible, but the 1A was hanging in somewhat gamely until the bump and then he just lost any chance to win and nearly cost him place as he hung on for 2nd by about 1/2 length.  If 1A finished 3rd, do they drop the 2 for costing him a position?  The 1A might have paint chips from the rail on his left-side.

Had no play, but if they take down a horse like that, the game would be over with. A clear case of an incident \"insufficient\" to change the final order of placement.The 1A was finishing second,bump or no bump.

Your point about what if the 1A finished third has some merit. That might have been cause for a difficult call by the stewards and a possible take down since the 1A may have been the seen as having lost a placing, i.e 3rd instead of a possible 2nd.

Inconsistencies in steward rulings is the pet peeve of most players. Think in NY, the stewards get it right 98 times out of 100 times, don\'t know about elsewhere.

If the 1A has a 1% chance of rallying and coming back to win, this is a disqualifiable offense,  He wasn\'t out of the race until he was put into the god-damn rail.

has nothing to with sanity, but rather an understanding of the rules of racing re infractions. check out the word \"insufficient\" in websters.

It should be remembered that all of these guys & gals are a \'split second away...\' in every race, every day.  It adds nothing to your argument.

Seems pretty clear (from my view, at least) that this result was going to be 2-1A-etc-etc with or without things tightening up as they did.  Pretty difficult to suggest that they should change the outcome considering how the 1A went about his business w/o much of a check/take-up.  I guess if you needed the 1A, though, this is of little consequence....

I think that results should stand in any inquiry where the Stew\'s take more than 3 minutes decide.  After that period of time it becomes a coin flip anyway.  I also think it is a waste of time talking to both jockeys, especially the one that was on the suspected horse.   I can maybe see talking to a jockey, only if the jock claimed the foul....and only for 30 seconds.
