To my knowledge, More Than Ready has not been a proven Distance sire in American Racing. However, he has been a \"Shuttle Stallion\" and has been doing Double Breeding Duty down in Australia. Here he has not been much of a Stallion at all. There, he has come up with a host of runners. The amazing thing is he covers hundreds of mares a season. I\'m not sure about the Australian Racing. I believe it may be grass, which is neither here nor there because Verrazano has proven he likes dirt. Well, maybe fast one turn dirt!
To this eye they have crossed a brilliant mid distance type to more of a Stamina Female side out of Giant\'s Causeway. This Verranzano\'s future may be on grass. If he can stay in one piece.
Tampa Bay Downs is Not Gulfstream Park. It will not be a speed forgiving surface and it will be two turns. The hoof goes into the sand and it does not come out as easily. The horses in the Tampa Bay Derby are not the very best, but they may be good enough to let Verrazano know he\'s not sprinting anymore. Let it be so.
