WAR'S PROSPECT...

Dear ThoroGraph:

Reference is made to WAR\'S PROSPECT, who won
the New Jersey Futurity on Nov. 7th with a curiously
stunning 4 ThoroGraph. [He\'s entered in Friday\'s
mini-stake at Aqueduct.] The colt\'s sheet shows a
22 debut... 22 again... 11 off a layoff... then 13... 4.

I handicapped the Futurity with someone in your
office and we both - based on his TG sheet -
downgraded his chances. Apparently, we were too
dumb to see that the colt would improve [ahem...]
from a 13 to a 4 in 7 days!

I haven\'t seen how your sheets competitor saw his
race of Oct. 31, but I note his high Beyer that night.
I won\'t go so far as to suggest your figure for his
Oct. 31 race was wrong [too slow]. But I wonder
about it, and ask that you flag it for the future.

Just happened to stop in the office (I\'m the only one here, I\'m not a slave driver), and thank you for pointing this out. There was some kind of input error (after I assign a variant for the race someone else inputs the day, and another person checks it). This does occasionally happen.

Anyway, for anyone playing AQU Friday-- THE RIGHT NUMBER FOR THE 10/31 RACE FOR WAR\'S PROSPECT IS 8 3/4.
