The Tubes, Indirectly
« on: November 26, 2013, 10:05:49 PM »
Thanks to the The following story. I was reminded of one of my favorite San Francisco Bands - The Tubes, via one of their last tunes \"She\'s A Beauty\" and the the included phrase \"why would I lie?\"

Interesting Story, If you missed it.

He\'ll talk to you later.

Just save it for another day.

Hope everyone enjoys their Thanksgiving weekend.  I am currently in Maui celebrating my 50th birthday today. Where did the time go??

“Where did the time go?”

Allow me.

Sleeping … 15 years
Handicapping & betting … 6 years
Waiting out photos/stewards’ decisions … 1 year*
Watching and savoring great wins by the A’s … 1 year
Watching and savoring great wins by the Raiders … 8 months
Wallowing in the misery of phantom fumbles and immaculate receptions … 6 months
Pondering the “what if” Finley didn’t break up the A’s … 4 months
Creating plausible excuses to redboard a longshot brought in by Mike Smith … 3 months
Fending off TGJB’s threats to bar you for posts (Z, Mike Smith, etc) … 2 months
Engaged in barroom or online defense of Sunday Silence versus Easy Goer … 2.5 weeks
Wishing Silver would effing learn to spell … 1.5 weeks
Watching and savoring great wins by the Golden State Warriors … 1 day
Actual clock time waiting out photos/stewards’ decisions … 1 day

And I hate to break it to you, Paul, but the other half you just wasted.

Happy 50th, and Happy Thanksgiving to you and the entire TGenerate crew!

Bob

Funny stuff, Magic, reminiscent of the oft-quoted Elmore Leonard line from \"La Brava\" (and likely, previously quoted here):

\"I spent most of my dough on booze, broads and boats.  The rest I just wasted.\"

Any of us, not just P-Dub, could easily substitute \"horses\" for boats, but we\'d lose the alliterative effect.

I try to limit my stealing to only the best shops, Rog. We lost a giant this year when EL drifted off into his big sleep. You know what they say. Lousy artists borrow; great artists steal. I wonder who EL clipped that chestnut from?

Great stuff Bob, thanks for the laughs.

PS: Add a little more time to phantom fumbles and that play in Pittsburgh.
