Yes, it was good to see many of the usual suspects again. As for handicapping, it was, as they say, one of those days. Not only did horses who looked very live not run like it, the ones who looked like solid \"bet againsts\" rubbed our noses in it.
As for golf, Sean from CT opened up on the field with a putter that was draining them from Ballston Spa and the Wilton Mall. Yours truly and Dick Powell broke slowly, made no middle move, and flattened out. Unlike Sean, I couldn\'t sink a putt in the Atlantic standing at the end of the boardwalk pier. Richiebee turned in a respectable performance off the seven year layoff, but I think he needs to work on his spacing. Richie can put the hurt on a ball when he connects, which is even more remarkable when you consider he was probably using Walter Hagen autographed clubs. I\'m not talking about the brand. I think the old master actually put his John Hancock on those vintage sticks. As for TGJB, we didn\'t get the audited final report as he played in the second group with Susan, but we did see him repeatedly in the woods. If you\'ve ever played with JB, this is not an unusual occurrence, and probably the strongest part of his game is hitting out of there, almost a guaranteed bogey with some kind of Mickelsonian rescue shot.
On a side note, Frank, it was a pleasure meeting your friend. As they say in another context, it looks like you outkicked the coverage.
