This is relevant. This article states that both Baffert and Lukas don\'t believe American Pharoah ran his best race in Kentucky. Tgraph has Pharoah mega topping and I have no comment on that. What is significant to me is that they believe he has more in him but that is after beating up on poor quality and off form horses before the Derby, running a Derby that many score out very fast and winning the race in many respects due to good fortune.

The problem for me is the Upstart\'s and Materiality\'s that I know can beat AP aren\'t in the race. Frosted either. I even like Keen Ice and if he were here I\'d go in for it. But I just don\'t like what\'s in this field and don\'t consider that the starters are even the best of this crop.

Maybe I dreamt this but didn\'t JB say soon after the derby figs were posted that the figs could have been a couple of points slower? If I wasn\'t dreaming, how does that change anyone\'s read of patterns going in?

Lets say Tgraph is spot on. That means AP fired big time.

Or lets say there\'s an anomaly due to a strange race, say AP is closer to Pair.

In either case what do they mean he didn\'t fire his A plus race?

He did fire and what that suggests is that he doesn\'t lay over these and is breaking from a hole where he shoots or works a trip.
