Stein Show 11/20
« on: November 24, 2004, 08:46:46 PM »
Guys,

Somebody I know from the track sent me an e-mail about a radio show that Roger Stein does in California.  ALLEGEDLY on the show Roger Stein had on a vet who I guess said some really negative things about trainers in So. Cal (Saying some similar things that was said by some on this board).

Stein pulled the show from his archives I guess due to liabilty issues.

Did anybody else hear this or hear about this?

No, but I\'ll say this-- I threatened to sue that guy once myself and he couldn\'t have cared less, so it must have been something pretty extreme.

Haven\'t heard it yet, but yeah, Roger loves me-- we butted heads when he trained for an outfit I managed, and he has taken his shots at me whenever he can over the years. When he said something particularly egregious a couple of years ago and refused to retract it I actually called a lawyer, who told me I wouldn\'t be able to prove damages.

On the other hand, he trashes most everybody else as well, it\'s about all he has going for him-- he\'s a third rate trainer and has no credibility. In our case, he does it because Alan makes a weekly handicapping appearance on a competing radio show (Jason Levin\'s). My guess is that it drives listeners our way.

Hopefully he\'ll read this, and go off on another tirade.

He said something on the lines of you all show couple of horses that you all told someone to buy, but don\'t show all the ones that goes belly up. The thing he doesnt understand was about how you all don\'t give picks, I was like duh it\'s a service, most people don\'t want someone else telling them who to bet, it\'s all in the fun of doing it yourself. Then they went into how you say horses are getting faster. The part on the horses bouncing was funny and some truth in it.
