can someone explain why this filly was not the eclipse winner?  Forget the politics, is htere a basis of fact?

I don\'t see any reason why she\'s a more worthy winner than the one that got it--or a couple of the others in the division last year, for that matter.  They all had similar credentials, and the fact that Round Pond did not participate in the Kentucky Oaks, Mother Goose, Coaching Club, or Alabama couldn\'t have helped her cause.
