Any Opinions on Santa Anita Pick 6 Today???
« on: January 10, 2007, 10:55:01 AM »
Any one have any thoughts on the massive 600K pick six today?

My thoughts are as follows:

R3:
Seems pretty wide open? I bet 1-White Aura against males last time, so I will give her a look again. 3-Velvet Moonlite seems a genuine type to me and 7-Fortunate Event is always close but seldom wins. Interesting to see how 5-Athena Two O Four runs for Sadler (he\'s cooled off since Hollywood, from about a 30% winner to a 10% winner!) I\'m not sure 8-Fun Logic wants to go this far.
R4:
Brandi\'s Starlite would be a cold single, but Sherman\'s in the detention barn, so it\'s hard to say for sure. She toyed with her rivals in her last race.
R5: I\'m interested in 6-Mr. Bond, I think this horse had a breathing problem and Julio has claimed him, I expect much more stamina today.  He\'s a good looking sort in a lackluster race. Maybe a single?
R6: Must spread - use 1,2,3,6,8,9
R7: #6-Fast Parade - everyone\'s most likely single; turns pick six into pick 5. Can\'t see any of these getting to him -- he\'s just too CLASSY!
R9: Wide open to close things out -- must spread here, too. I\'m using 1,3,4,5,6,8,10,15.

Santa:
3) 1,7,8
4) 2,3
5) 3,5 (#7 is first time gelding)
6) 1,6,8
7) 1,4,6 (really like the 1 coming back and may single)
8) 4,8,10

ticket price? $648 before any other scratches...

If you beat the #6 in the 7th race, you will cash mightily! So that\'s a decent single. I believe he\'s a quality animal too, I couldn\'t figure if maybe this was a prep. for something longer, that\'s all.
Thanks &
good luck!

yes, that is the big question...also take a long look at the Juddmonte horse inthat race.  Frankel has risen from the slumber...

Shan....
there are no words to express ones\' discomfort when running down your ticket and only hope you had the kahunas to add the gelding to an already expensive ticket.
Whoever said \"it takes balls to win\",didn\'t hit this six.

ironically, the horse I widdled out was star parade and wound up singling the 1 horse in the second to last leg...knocking me effectively out.  Exciting day nonetheless just to be in it that long...very surprised at the payout.

That was an awesome ticket you put together. Had I played off it, I would have cashed b/c I figured the seventh race was a cold single; alas, it was not to be. I thought it payed very well for the degree of difficulty, which wasn\'t that hard. I left the 7 out of the fifth race, the one who was just gelded. I needed that trainer, Polanco, on Sunday in the last leg, and I would have had 5/6 twice on Sunday (that would have been good for about 60K) had his horse won the last leg. Oh, well, until the next big carryover!
