CURLIN IS A MONSTER
« on: June 09, 2007, 08:10:58 PM »
Yup...and no matter what it is that makes him great;its\' an absolute pleasure to see a horse capable of putting together 2 great stretch drives in suckseshion.
Ain\'t it a shame it takes two steeds to create such an incredible visual?
Next time he runs,he just may win by daylight.
Assmusen is either a great trainer or the theorists are going to wake up tomorrow and ....here we go again!
Just covering my ass in case Stevie really is a wonder.

he looks a lot like Afleet Alex

- a fast sprint on the resume
- a convincing Ark Derby win with an exceptionally fast final 1/8th
- a rough trip third in the Derby
- a very fast Preakness win
- a mile and a quarter jog and a very fast sprint home in the Belmont

unfortunately, AA\'s story ended here.

Truly amazing performance by Curlin in the Belmont. I think he regressed slightly figurewise (rail trip, spotting 5 pounds to a 4 wide filly). But so many fast races in a short period of time: he\'s either a freak, or Assmussen has found a way around drug screening.
