It was a great game! He seemed to pull himself together as the game went on, especially the fourth quarter! Still near the end I was wondering if they were going to make it with the way Tynes was playing. I couldn\'t believe the first two field goal attempts, but third time was a charm! It was a career play. Now my two favorite teams are in the Superbowl! Yes, Eli is maturing as a player-

Whatever happens in the big game, its going to make someone a remarkable story. If Brady can\'t finish, he\'ll be remembered as the Goat that blew the perfect season and Eli will be remembered as the first brother to hoist a superbowl trophy the very year after his sibling accomplished the feat. If Brady can pull it off, he\'ll be the superest superbowl winning quarterback ever with an even larger harem of virgins to choose from. Conservative fathers will offer up their daughters to the Shiek of Perfection for the mere chance to score playoff tickets.

I haven\'t seen the line but I\'ve heard the Pats are laying 13 points. Thats kinda like Zito or Pletcher bringing five horses into the Derby. It scares some folks into factoring the numbers.

the giants have a very decent shot - they sized up pretty well against the pats  - though ny didn\'t see that 3 tight end set in the regular season finale . pats got to win by 2 td\'s to cover but i seriously doubt thats going to happen - it\'s going to be another nail biter ...

As a NY sportsradio commentator said last night, how sweet it is that while Eli
will be preparing for Supe XLII over the next 2 weeks, Tiki will be discussing
cookie recipes and chatting about the weather with Al Roker on the Today show.

Speaking of the Gints, how great is tight end Jeremy Shockey. Giants have done
nothing but win with him out of lineup. In my opinion a very physical player,
but overrated as a tight end, and it is possible that Manning has been able to
take more of a leadership role with JS confined to Florida nightclubs with his
busted wheel.

In Summary-- In Summation found the newly reconstituted Cushion to his liking
yesterday, winning in 1:06.71 or something like that. The Clement runner is now
4/5 on synthetic surfaces, including 3 Graded stakes. Certainly the Master of
the Mattress.

Guys...this NYG team has exceeded any/all expectations and is clearly playing with house money.  Having said that look at the #\'s:

 - NE has been exceedingly poor in covering the # the past 5-6 weeks (do you think Belichick cares if he wins this game by 2 points?)
 - THEY have the pressure on them to complete the undefeated season
 - There are now questions re: Brady and his right leg (\'walking boot right foot, usually indicative of a high ankle sprain\')
 - NYG have defied all of the \'supposed experts\' in overcoming EVERY obstacle over the past 3 playoff games and it can be argued that they have played the best ball (particularly team wise) over the past month.

  Not only do I think 12 is an absolute gift...I give NY a legitimate chance to win outright.

Richie, thats a special horse. He showed huge potential at 2.  It\'s got much less to do with Clement than Frank Gomez.

Why do you say that? I don\'t know about Frank Gomez so can you elaborate ?

Frank Gomez was a Calder based trainer. Incidentally, he wasn\'t latin, he was Irish. Frank was old school. First and foremost he believed in the welfare of the horse. His first race maiden race strike rate was very low, because he did not crank and push two year olds. He did it the old fashioned way, by letting the horse tell him when it was ready. Gomez was so committed to his horses and family that he did not travel, which is fine until a top prospect comes along. But, rather than travel to the big stakes he gave up top prospects to stay at Calder and oversee his stock.

I began writing this reply from memory and on a lark did a \"Thoroughbred Times\" search to see what he had been up to so I could include the detail in this response. I didn\'t realize Mr. Gomez had recently passed away. We lost one of the good ones. The following stories don\'t mention \"Prized\", which was another horse that went on to great things (Breeders Cup Turf winner and Vanquisher of Sunday Silence) because Gomez did right by him early.

Cherokee Run was a Gomez masterpiece.

In Summation is good now because Gomez stayed with him and ensured he did not use him up then.

I noted In Summation\'s meteoric beginning back when he was two. It wasn\'t just the horse that led me to believe he might be something. It was Gomez, who brought a horse around to his best and always saved the animal doing so.

doesnt this 5 weeks on the road thing have to take somw wind out of the g-men? the only thing keeping new england in check is the weather. i think travel and the hype will kick the g-mens butt. new england by 20.
