I think the layoff might have been a factor. She was out for over 4 months. Frankel\'s horses often run well fresh, but there is a difference between getting a horse ready off a freshening or layoff to face weaker and doing the same when the return spot is effectively a Grade 1 race (which this was) and the toughest assignment the horse has had to date (which this also was).
