This joke poll would clearly favor the horse with the most recent win as she would be freshest in everyones minds.


Rachel turned the 3 year old season upside down in unprecedented fashion never seen before.  Zenyatta crushed some tomato cans on her way to a Classic win over a dodgy field on a bogus surface.  Sherriffs deserves more credit than the horse does for soft-spotting her the entire year.

Anyone who thinks Zenyatta deserves it over Rachel needs their head screwed on straight.

Through no fault of Flighted - of course this is now veering off into the Rachel vs. Zee thing.  I am SO happy Z is retiring so I don\'t have to hear about this anymore.  If I read one more \"suggestion\" about races between these two my head is going to explode.  Get ready for more after they announce the HOY results - I can\'t wait to hear what everyone has to say about that...since I\'m sure we\'ll be breaking new ground on this issue then (yawn).  

Apparently some people will just bang their heads into a brick wall FOREVER or until they knock themselves into a coma...

No problem Flighted.  We can disagree and still have some decent boundaries.  I would just sum up by saying I don\'t dispute the points you make as much as the focus on Z as an example.  What\'s going on with Cali racing goes WAY beyond the impact of any one horse racing or not, even one as significant as Z.

It\'s hard for me to work up much anger at the owners, whichever way they decided to go.  My guess is that the losses suffered by owners as a group (excluding trainer-owners) easily exceed the ~20% takeout paid by the players.

They both did the same thing for horse racing on two totally different surfaces and cannot be compared at all..  both should be co-horses of the year for doing amazing things for the sport... i think the HUGE thing no one is talking about is the fact that the younger male horses are running so much slower these days when compared to past younger male horses and current female ones.  i wouldnt be surprised if we had 2-3 females minimum running next year in the triple crown races.
