Am I reading the tote board right on the Monrovia HANDICAP????  Mike Smith cannot make 119 lbs?  According to Youbet, he is 1 pound over.

I have never said a word about Smith, but his ride today on Essoai probably cost the horse the race (and me a shot at the pick-3). He rushed him to the front without needing to and stayed three-wide unnecessarily, then could not keep him straight in the stretch. He only lost by half a length and I have to believe he was the best horse.

IF THE RESULT CHARTS ARE TO BE BELIEVED, MAYBE YOU SHOULD SHARE YOUR JOCKEY DISGUST WITH MICHAEL BAZE CONSIDERING MIKE SMITH WAS ON A DIFFERENT HORSE IN THIS RACE.

These jokers around here are in such a hurry to bash Smith, they can\'t even get their facts straight. How shocking.

You rarely hear of any other jockey getting blasted on this board, what has Smith ever done to warrant the constant barrage of criticism?? Besides the tired, worn out, \"Smith goes wide\" comments? You would think someone would get tired of it.

In case you do not know,Essoai has a history of being impossible to ride. Even the great Bobby Frankel could not get this somewhat talented runner to behave.This horse is a bad actor,even in the am, so Smith was not the problem. I\'ll guess Essoai was pulling so Smith had to let him run or choke him.

It wasn\'t Smith, but Michael Baze. Either way, I was griping and blaming. If that horse can be better schooled, he certainly has talent...
