Breeders Cup is over.  Saratoga a fading memory. It now gets dark at 4:30 as racing on the inner dirt at Aqueduct  looms boldly on the racing calendar.

The Holidays with the outlaws are closing in  like Goldikova and you left her off all of your exotics. Trips to the mall with your better half closing in like Gio Ponti to gradually, but inevitably wipe  away  your bankroll.

Cherish the memories of yesterday. To paraphrase one Lawrence Peter \'Yogi\' Berra.... \"it gets late early now.\"

Ah, late fall ... trainers doing the final sorting of their 2-yr-old crop  ... some dare to dream, just maybe, could one be in the barn? that chestnut colt hasn\'t done anything stupid yet and is coming right along ... Gulfstream for the more precocious ... winter book odds ... it\'s almost Derby time!
