Bobby Flay gives credit to Jerry Brown for selection of Her Smile in TDN. For the part mentioning Thorograph go to page 2.

There should be a postscript on that.  Based on his ROTW analysis, sounds like the host was against running.  Something along the lines of \"we entered to take a look but are likely going to scratch\".

Maybe the \"Iron chef\" stepped in and insisted they run....

It was the Iron Trainer.

As I said here after the race, I was trying to get them to scratch.

...too often in this game, luck wins out over all else.Only one scenario that overmatched filly has to win and of course it happens.Very strong race, not numbers, by Quantam Miss/Roman Treasure, either one whistles without the war up front.Alienation, perfect trip,my key, empty for Baffy.

Mike,

That scenario was likely.  So despite the numbers disadvantage, and I know pace handicapping is not a big part of the daily discussion, it was a plausible result.

Hi Paul,

Yes,but in that predictable pace war the 5 or the 6 were far more likely to win, given their expected stalking position. The winner was overmatched going in,easily ran the fastest race of her life.

Kool Aid RAGS friend \"liked\" the winner going in, some nonsense about a 1/4 point forward move in her last.

Can Exchange Wagering hurry up already.

Hey Miff,
You don\'t think it was because she was not running at her preferred distance also.  Pletcher seems to think this horse is a better sprinter based on his comments.  Not saying the race setup didn\'t help but I do think she is better than what she has shown this year becuase she was running at the wrong distances.

Lost,

I\'ll guess she was mainly recommended as a router, not a sprinter. She is obviously a better sprinter right now.Set up was not only good for her but the 5 and the 6 did not fire near their best(esp the 5) If she was being poorly managed distance wise, she was still too slow sprinting going in, just can\'t get her.

Congrats on the pick but I\'m honest, there is no way I can use the winner, even if I\'m 4 deep in there.Sprinting in the future, she can\'t be dismissed with that group.

Good luck!

She may or may not turn out to be better sprinting. There was a real issue as to how fit she was when we ran her in the Oaks, and that whole thing may have set her back. Pletcher has been trying to get weight back on her since then, she may have just come around, we\'ll see. We\'ll also see what this effort does to her.
