Ok. I had zero $ wagered in the Bel 6th race. What was Rosie doing to that horse?(the 7 horse)...She pretty much jerked him at least a few times in the turn and thru the lane......and then one time too many as the animal broke down.

I didn\'t even see the race you are talking about, but horses with injury will lay in heavily on a rein, in your hands, bear-lean to one side.  Could be Rosie was jerking for a good reason.

Rosie jerking the horse in the stretch was not the problem.  Obviously, the horse breaking down had nothing to do with her ride.

What made her ride disgusting was that the rail was no good all day long, there was speed in front of her, the wide path was there for the taking entering the far turn, and she chose to stay down on the rail, despite having an absolute ton of horse.

don\'t know  if the breakdown was invevitable or something happened in the stretch to cause it, but I do know, if you are a jockey and sittin on enough horse such that it looks like you will win by 10, you do NOT stay on the dead rail and get trapped.

A horrible ride IMO, but not sure it had anything to do with the breakdown.

Rosie looked to have a ton and just needed to get clear assuming she wasn\'t having trouble controlling that horse.

If you really look, they all make bone headed moves from time to time, the skilled jocks less often than the less skilled ones.Many jocks will point to split second decisions which they have to make to explain why they made a move which turns out badly.Actually can see them \"slump\" from time to time, hesitating,just not riding with their usual confidence.Kent D obviously on tilt right now!

Re jocks and for those not following Cali racing,will be interesting to watch Joel Rosario battle Dominguez/any jock from the 1/8th pole to the wire with equal horses.

Not expecting to see Joel Rosario and Ramon doing much battling, at least not at close range.

Ramon usually saving ground, on the rail, Joel often in 12 path, which may help him \"sneak attack\" Ramon, as Ramon and his horse might not see him.....

Rosario will be back in Cali after his 5 % Saratoga meet; he\'ll do real well on those turf courses in the 5 & 6 path. Far and away the most overrated \"top jock\" currently riding.

The revised purse structure in NY will make for full fields; not the Cali 6 horse races on plastic where you can put your Cadillac anywhere and win.

I\'m making a trip handicappers motion and this is in no way meant to inflame P-Dub;that Joel Rosario be known as Joel \" Wider than Wide Mike\" Rosario going forward.

24 days and a wake up call until opening day and Oklahoma is swamped with well bred 2 year olds getting ready for 80k maiden special weight events.

How about just \"Wider than Mike\"? Still makes the point, without the obvious jab of using \"wide\" twice. The subtle difference works just as well, IMO.

I actually laughed when I first read it, its pretty good.

Oklahoma IS already swamped with some really nice (and some really nuttier than normal) 2 yr olds. Mr TAP sends out string after string and it is always interesting to see which one of his am jocks is going to be fighting the entire way around the track with the young ones. The main track opened on Monday for training. Much safer(than the OKL. tr) than trying to steer a baby through a maze of horseflesh. 24 days to go but, I may have a problem though as I have already wagered and lost on two 1/2m \"workout\" wagers w / my brother.
